  1. The Pt. Wilson lighthouse is located in the Ft. Worden State Park, north of Pt. Townsend, WA. The current lighthouse was built in 1914, and the original lighthouse, minus its tower, continued to serve as the keepers' dwelling. The lighthouse features a forty-nine-foot concrete tower, built in an octagonal shape to reduce wind pressure, which projects upward from a fog signal building.
My painting group rented one of the officer's quarters buildings at the fort, and took a tour of the lighthouse as part of our visit. Very friendly Coast Guard Auxiliary members showed us the lens and facility and share history and ghost stories with us.
Currently unmanned, there is a small red light sending out a small signal for kayakers and small boats.
The seagulls seem at peace on the old kerosene storage building. A lovely subject for a painting. I included Dorothy and me being briefed.
    (13.5" x 10.5") $500
