Suyematsu Farm, Crows and Pumpkins

2 comments:

  1. This was a foggy fall scene at Suyematsu Farm on Day Road, on Bainbridge. The crows were working over the pumpkins that had just been plowed in by Mr. Suyematsu. The remaining choice pumpkins had been left in a pile, with an old wheelbarrow standing guard. The red water tower building was relocated from Madison and Wyatt in downtown Winslow. My plein air group recently painted at three of the Islands remaining farms, and donated the proceeds of the sale to Friends of the Farms, which is helping to preserve these precious resources for locally grown food.

  2. This painting is on the cover of the recently released Friends of the Farms Cookbook. A really nice book "Celebrating the Bounty of Bainbridge Island'. Great recipes and lovely photography. It can be purchased at Dana's Show House, or picked up at the Friends of the Farms office at 221 Winslow Way, Suite 303. friendsofthefarms.org 206-842-5537
