Ft. Ward is a lovely waterfront park located on south Bainbridge Island. This fort was designed to protect nearby Bremerton shipyard from attack in the early 1900's, and later during WWII. It was also the site where Japanese code messages were intercepted. The wooden buildings in my painting served as residential quarters for military personnel, and are now threatened by erosion of the nearby bank. This was a lovely sunny day, with nearby gulls making their calls, and ferry boats making their rounds between Seattle and Bremerton. (11.5" x 17") $450
