Bloedel Reserve, Bainbridge Island, WA

Access Road in Bloedel Reserve Garden on Bainbridge Island

  1. A lovely wooded area in the Bloedel Reserve garden on the north end of Bainbridge Island. The moss garden path begins on the right, and the Japanese garden is on the left. The rhododendrons are completing an amazing blooming season. The small bridge crosses a creek running to the pond in the Japanese garden. While painting plein air, there was the constant knock of a deer scare fountain (Shishi-odoshi), echoing constantly through the otherwise placid woods.
