A beautiful Japanese pine tree at the Bloedel Reserve on Bainbridge Island. What I enjoyed about this painting is the detail of the foregound, on both sides of the path, and the light behind the sculptural and random tree form. My painting group was lucky to have a recent tour of Gayle Bard's show at the Bainbridge Island Art Museum by Gayle, and I gave myself permission to take as long as I needed to complete this painting.
