This was a fun painting! The liquor bottle was found laying in a gutter in Nepal, and brought to us by our Daughter. My painting group is now meeting by Zoom, and I wanted to create an image that had a spiritual feel, was simple, and meditative. After drawing in pencil, I went over each line with an elegant writer, a marvelous tool that bleeds color when touched by water.I then added watercolor and highlights. I wanted the lines to be symmetrical and calm. The gerber daisy (added to the vase my my Spouse)at the top was slightly off center which I felt badly about, until I realized the message was, that it is difficult to create perfection, and nature often shows variety and imbalance, and who wants it anyway. The second and third images were the result of the late evening sun coming through lowered window blinds, hitting the paper in a wonderful abstract pattern, and other reflected light from a nearby mirror. So, a unique momentary collaboration, with lighting that I could not have imagined possible. (18" x 12") NFS
