This painting is a watercolor using Chinese White to create a more opaque effect, more like an oil technique. The original artist used pastel pencils, which starts with darks, and then incorporates vivid lighter colors. I like the brightness of this painting, and hope to try the technique in my paintings of the Northwest with a more gray rainy palette much of the year. We'll see how it goes.... It certainly spruces up the kitchen wall. (11" x 17") NFS
